Kashmiri Saffron
Kashmiri Mongra Saffron
Product Overview
Kashmiri Mongra Saffron is one of Kashmir’s most treasured natural products, valued for its exceptional quality, purity, deep colour, intense flavour, and distinctive aroma.
Sourced from Pampore, Kashmir, this premium saffron grows under the region’s favourable climate and soil conditions, producing long, thick red stigmas that are characteristic of high-quality Kashmiri saffron.
Our Kashmiri Mongra Saffron is obtained from carefully handpicked deep-red stigmas of the Crocus sativus flower. The strands remain unadulterated and unprocessed, helping preserve their natural character and purity.
It is free from additives, artificial colours, and preservatives, allowing the authentic taste, colour, and aroma of genuine Kashmiri saffron to remain intact.
Kashmiri Mongra Saffron is recognised for the quality associated with saffron grown in the region and carries the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) tag from the Government of India.
It is cultivated at altitudes of approximately 1600 metres to 1800 metres above sea level, giving it a distinctive growing environment associated with Kashmiri saffron.
Celebrated internationally, Kashmiri Saffron is valued as a premium culinary spice and has also been traditionally used in cosmetics and heritage preparations.
It has long held an important place in Kashmiri culture and cuisine, where it is used in traditional beverages, festive dishes, and special recipes.
Its rich colour, aroma, and flavour complement a wide range of preparations, from biryanis and savoury delicacies to desserts and beverages.
Naturally occurring plant compounds and antioxidants are present in saffron, adding to its traditional appeal as a premium natural ingredient. Rare, precious, and deeply connected to the valley, Kashmiri Mongra Saffron continues to represent the purity, quality, and cultural richness of Kashmir.
